Guest Post by Sharon Giordano

I admit it. I’m a workshop junkie. Online or live, I love learning and being part of a community with like-minded individuals. Enter Behind the Scenes: a creative guide to blogging your passion. I’ll also admit that I signed up with a little trepidation. Why? Because I’ve taken other comprehensive blogging courses already.

What could this class possibly add that I’ve not heard already? Being a follower of Kim Klassen and admirer of Xanthe Berkeley, I decided to go for it.

What a surprise I was in for!

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Clause and there is so much more to blogging. What stood out to me the most is this: how personal this class has turned out to be. Seeing Kim and Xanthe on video as they talked about their experiences and thoughts added a whole new perspective.

I enjoyed seeing them as they really are: genuine, teaching from the heart and even a bit goofy at times. In some ways it may have been a risk for them to leave in some of their personal interactions. But no, that’s who they really are and they wanted us to see that too. How much they enjoy each other and how much it means for them to teach this class and encourage others to find the connections and joys that they have experienced through blogging. I’ve felt as if they were speaking just to me, sitting near me in my room.

Best of all, I learned many new techniques and met fellow creatives. The video instruction (lots of it - covering many different facets of photography and blogging) made it more real and easy to understand. Behind the Scenes has left me inspired and excited with new possibilities – thanks to the personal and unique perspectives of Kim and Xanthe.

Hi Sharon I too am a workshop junkie but I am very particular about my workshops and I have the attention span of a pea so it is a great compliment to Kim and Xanthe that not only did I take part in Behind the Scenes I completed it too yey me....
Their easy and friendly and sometimes down right hilarious video chats were fabulous and their very professional way of getting content across was wonderful. The encouragement was just what I needed . so all I can say ladies is bring on the next workshop......

Dear Sharon,

What a lovely guest post to read. I too agree wholeheartedly that Kim and Xanthe gave of their hearts with such a genuine natural way of teaching while being professional at the same time, it was a privilege to be part of such an inspiring class.

I am finding it so wonderful to have the opportunity to go back over the work until I complete my blog in the best possible format it can be. I'm still stumbling around but I'll get it eventually.

I feel I had to do this because I wasn't a blogger to start with. I'm having to learn how to create the bones first and feel if this class hadn't been offered I would still be Blogless!
I've been taking the Beyond Layers class from Kim all year so this class seemed a natural progression.
You've expressed my feelings on this class and I too wish it didn't have to end.

Your image is stunning and Your Blog is wonderful!! AND, I have a cat named Graycee too ... (only spelled differently). I have a lot to do to catch up to be even half as organized at you.

Now, I have to go click to follow you too. =0). It's been so nice to meet you Sharon.

Have a lovely day,
Joy
